Evidence system

Methodology and sources

How BedMetric turns market-specific evidence into one auditable dimensional model without hiding uncertainty.

01

Canonical data model

Every record stores a stable ID, market, name, aliases, native statement, canonical millimetres, dimension type, tolerance, sources, checked date, confidence and related routes.

02

Market-first naming

Every ambiguous name keeps a market code. Selectors, tables, breadcrumbs and answers do not present “King” or “Queen” as a universal standard.

03

Exact conversion

Dimensions are stored once in millimetres. Inches use exactly 25.4 mm and centimetres use 10 mm; a rounded display is never converted back.

04

Nominal and manufacturer figures

A convention is distinguished from a finished manufacturer example. The page identifies the evidence type instead of presenting every number as universal law.

05

Conflict and tolerance handling

When credible Australian sources disagree, BedMetric keeps the range visible and identifies which example drives the proportional drawing.

06

Bounded publication

Only records and comparisons with a distinct decision task become routes. Unit states, spellings and arbitrary pairs remain non-indexable.

Source hierarchy and review

Authoritative and independent sources are preferred where available, followed by national retailers and manufacturers for current market practice and finished examples. Links are checked every six months; the complete fact set is reviewed annually or sooner after a credible correction.

What BedMetric does not claim

Nominal dimensions are not compatibility certifications, manufacturing guarantees, comfort recommendations, medical advice or proof that bedding will fit. BedMetric does not claim affiliation with any listed source.
