International overview

Mattress sizes by country

The same name can represent a different footprint in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

Rule one

Keep the country attached to the name.

A “King” without a market is incomplete information. Open a country guide for the full table, local aliases and evidence boundaries.

US

United States

US mattress names are inch-led nominal conventions. Full is also called Double, while California King changes both width and length relative to King.

UK

United Kingdom

UK conventions use familiar names with metric dimensions. “Queen” commonly means Small Double, which is not a North American Queen.

Canada

Canada broadly uses North American names, but Canadian retailer and manufacturer evidence has its own finished-product figures and tolerances.

Australia

Australian guides agree on the main names but publish small dimensional differences. BedMetric shows the disagreement instead of inventing one exact national standard.
